Crazy Weekend

This has been a crazy weekend. Brought to me by busyness and a complete turn of events.

Lessons: waiting on God is actually fruitful, but not in all the ways you may expect!

Cute Stories

On Friday while i was watching Ivee we were painting and i turned my head for a maybe a minute and SPLAT!!!! the purple paint went all over the floor. I said, "Ivee, how did that happen!?!" and she responded, "I think the red paint pushed it off."

That girl is too cute.

And today at the hike my cousin Chloe who is 21 months old was on the ground throwing a fit about something and her grandma said "you better stop or you're going to roll in cow poop" and she immediately stood up, stopped crying, and started checking her shoes and clothes for poop.

It was the funniest thing ive seen in a long time.

I'll write more about the hike later because it was a really awesome day but right now im exhausted and i have to get up early so my mom can take me back to des moines because my car stopped working on friday (another interesting story you'll have to ask me about) so im going to sleep.

Randomness and Running

While running in the countryside by my house this weekend i thought i heard footsteps behind me and i started freaking out because i was in the middle of nowhere and i thought someone was following me. But finally i convinced myself it was ok to turn around and it was some random guy out for a run just like me. We had a nice conversation during the minute it took him to pass me and get too far ahead to keep yelling back and forth, so we wished each other well and kept on going. Strange, but kinda nice.
Then about 20 minutes later i almost tripped over a dead deer on the side of the road and decided that running in rural iowa is much different than running in des moines. I think i like it better....

In other running news, Amber told me about the St. Louis marathon in April and how she wants to run it, and i should run it too. So im getting kind of excited about that, i thought i would have to wait until next fall to run a marathon but it may be just around the corner!!! Training would start in December so it would be pretty cold but it could be fun. As a side note: I love Amber! and her shared love of running!

Im going home again on friday for the famous hike at my great aunt and uncle's farm in northeast iowa and Im super excited. So i should get some stuff done for school now, but ill leave you with one great question:

Is it weird that my right armpit always sweats more than my left one?

I'm home for the weekend. My cousin is getting married today and i get to hang out with my family all afternoon and evening. I still dont know what im going to wear, but ive got a few hours.

I had a dream last night that i ran a marathon in 3 hours and 30 minutes!!! That would never happen but it was a pretty sweet dream mostly because my legs didnt even hurt after i was done and i was telling everyone about how i had to run 6 miles later that day. I think that is because im planning on running 6 miles today and i was getting it all mixed up in the dream. But, nonetheless, very cool dream!

I guess i should start my laundry and go for that run before my mom gets back. Adios.

A Perfect Fall Day

I love fall. I love running. I love kids. And I love eating. And today was a perfect combination. Salmon for lunch while Ivee had cheesy eggs and looked at my lunch like it was the grossest thing she had ever seen. Then I got to play outside with three adorable girls and one very cute boy. A little running before dark. And soup, cornbread, and acorn squash for dinner. I also love that God loves it when we enjoy life.

The Beginning

Here it is. After somewhat of an impulse reaction, I now have a blog. You should probably thank Christine1 for the creation of this. We'll see what happens.
